The 2025 Rogue Invitational stormed into Aberdeen, Scotland today — and Day 1 did not disappoint. Between the deafening cheers inside P&J Live Arena and the cold North Sea wind outside, the atmosphere was pure electricity. With CrossFit elites, Strongman legends, and Strongwoman powerhouses all kicking off their campaigns, the competition is already shaping up to be one of the most unpredictable and exciting editions in Rogue history.
CrossFit Men: Medeiros Back on Top
After a roller-coaster 2024 season, Justin Medeiros came out looking like the two-time Games champ we all remember. With consistent top-finishes across the opening events, he grabbed the overall lead at 265 points heading into Day 2.
Jay Crouch (255) and Patrick Vellner (235) rounded out the top three, both proving that experience and composure pay dividends when the stakes are high.
Young guns James Sprague and Colten Mertens are close behind, keeping the leaderboard tight as athletes prepare for Saturday’s brutal “Rogue Gauntlet.”

We have a rare three-way tie for first after Day 1 — Alex Gazan, Dani Speegle, and Laura Horvath each sit at 235 points. All three women delivered powerhouse performances in both the strength and endurance tests, setting the stage for an explosive weekend showdown.
Olivia Kerstetter (225) and Danielle Brandon (200) round out the top five, with Emma Lawson and Arielle Loewen still in striking distance.
Every point will count as Rogue continues to mix heavy lifts, high-skill gymnastics, and punishing conditioning work in Saturday’s programming.

The big men took to the floor in dramatic fashion, and Trey Mitchell made a statement. Sitting atop the leaderboard with 26.5 points, he edges out reigning champ Mitchell Hooper (24) after a day that tested raw power and precision under pressure.
A tight cluster sits behind them — Lucas Hatton and Thomas Evans share third at 18.5, while Bryce Johnson and Austin Andrade aren’t far off the pace. With heavy deadlifts, stones, and grip events still to come, Day 2 could see a major shake-up in the standings.
